WHAT A DAY: December 7, 2014

Catherine's Annual Open Studio
Once again, Catherine held a spectacular and spiritual Open Studio for all to enjoy, create, & play.
And that we did! (not to mention snacked and drank yummy tea)
Janet Hince was playing her harp for us.  It was divine and therapeutic.
Melissa & I met up for the event and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Plus it was good meeting new people, and seeing familiar faces from an art retreat 2 years ago.
During our time, Catherine had plenty for us to PLAY with creatively:
-small glass labyrinth amulets
-journaling labyrinth
-experiments with a macro camera

ADVENT 2014: Foundation Pages

The Advent season has started.
I joined in by doing a homemade journal plus my Journaling Bible.

The foundation of the journal consists of several gelli plated prints.

These are a few of my favorites.
I limited my colors to red, blue, green, yellow, and purple.
I really love how the remnants of one print is on another even creating new colors.  I think those turn out to be my favorites.
The pages were pre-cut to 6x8 before printing which made it a lot easier.
I then punched a few holes and used silver metal rings to hold together.

I plan on using the Naptime Diaries Advent Calendar in my journal and their Devotional for my Journaling Bible.

WHAT A DAY: December 6, 2014

My 1st BAT MITZVAH Experience!!
For the sweetheart,
 Miss Jaclyn.
The Carmel Country Club was the venue and beautifully decorated for the winter season including the colors of the night pink/brown.

I found my little crush, Ben, whom opted not to be my date for the night :(,
but still looked adorable in his bow tie :)

CANDY BAR!
The party had already started as I was a bit late, so the kids were enjoying the DJ and music while the adults indulged in a fun "Happy Hour."  The sangria was tasty!
Decorations and set-up were gorgeous.

Kids received fun hoodies with their names airbrushed on each.
Jaclyn did a spectacular job reading her candle lighting speech thanking everyone involved in her life.  It was such a sweet moment to be amongst the names with Ms. Holly.

After the DELICIOUS meal, the dancing re-commenced with everyone.

And then DESSERT....my weakness.

And we all got to go home with some specially marked M&M's.
MAZEL TOV! jaclyn! 13!
P.S. So glad I got to grab a minute with the guest of honor for a silly pic.
Love this girl!!

Great celebration Feit's!

WHAT A WEEK+2: November 23-December 2, 2014

My vacation began with a trip to drop off Barkley at the dog sitter's.
Then it was back to Charlotte to catch the late night flight. Direct, of course.
The lady in the shuttle asked me if I played college basketball. I said "no that it was just a sweatshirt from the college I went to." She said "Oh I thought that was your name." So I'm officially renamed to Kearney Nebraska.
The next day, mom and I went shopping for gifts and looking at cute boutiques.

And I had a little too much fun playing with hats and displays.
Lunch was at Baby Blue Sushi which I love!!  Mom, not so much when she heard "eel sauce."

On to the next day of food and fun. First stop...El Bee's.
Yes, please!

And after a few errands, we met up with Dad for the Tuesday $5 movie deal "Nightcrawler". Let's just rate the movie a bit of a snore.
Wednesday was our Thanksgiving celebration. And I was tasked with making the "turkeys."
It also included the daily Facetiming with Brax and Angie.

Thanksgiving Day was a 5 mile run/walk and lots of crafting time.

The rest of the week was spent lounging, shopping, venturing around Valley. And of course eating yummy food.

Even Barkley and Brutus wanted to say hello during the week. Such little buddies. Love 'em both.

And after a brunch at Egg & I, it was time to reverse the trip. Flight then pickup Barkley.
I missed that lil guy.

He was so happy to see his mama. And to go home.
