WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LEMONS: Make A Motivation Board, Read A Book
This past week, while several were celebrating with fireworks, and family, and friends..
...my boyfriend, of a 1 1/2 years, & I broke up.
Thus, it triggered my anxiety and panic attacks. And several tears.
(If you suffer from anxiety, it is not a pleasant experience at all.)
I felt alone.
So after a few days, several phone calls and text with friends and family,
I decided I can't be like this....it is depressing, and stressful, and not healthy.
God has a plan for me...someday, somewhere, somehow... I will know what is my path.
Maybe I am not meant to get married, or have kids. I don't know...and I just have to trust in Him.
So to start off my Hello Happiness practice, I turned my laundry doors into a motivation/inspiration board. The first item, my 1/2 marathon training schedule. I need something to focus on that requires commitment and exercise. I plan on using various washi tape to put them up to add some color and fun. (I will update as it gets further in progress, but it is a start.)
While trying to survive the days, and get my head from overthinking the Why's, I finished a book, "What Remains" by Carole Radziwill. It put several things into perspective about living in the moment.
So today, I looked for my next book, and grabbed
"DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF..." by Richard Carlson. I didn't know where it came from, and looked inside. It was from a former boss as a holiday gift over 10 years ago. He is a great guy who is very successful, loved by many, and happens to stutter. He was older when he married a lady with a child. And he was happy. I think this book was placed in my hand for a reason.
So I opened it up...and the first thing I saw was the chapter, "Remember that Everything Has God's Fingerprints on It". It hit spot on, stating "can we learn to find the holiness in seemingly ugly circumstances-difficult life lessons, ...remember that God also created the person you are dealing with...you are truly blessed to have all that you do...The fact that we can't see the beauty in something doesn't suggest that it's not there. Rather, it suggests that we are not looking carefully enough or with a broad enough perspective to see it."
Tomorrow is a new day, and I want to wake up with my eyes wide open... (no tears)...
& jumping for JOY!

RUBBERMOON: BEACH Bingo
Who doesn't love a good ole game of BINGO....let alone...
BEACH BINGO!
As part of the celebration for my parents' 40th Anniversary, I customized a BINGO board for all to enjoy. Most were beachy themed, but also a few anniversary items as well.
First, a template of the game was created in Publisher, and scanned into a PDF file.
.... then printed out on heavy Cardstock.

Using my kitchen island, I laid all the boards out...grabbed a bunch of random stamps including my favorite ones from RubberMoon, and went to town. with a little bit of hope sprinkled in that no "1" card would be the same. But hey...What's BINGO with two winners? MORE FUN...right??? especially when little kids are involved.
The final result is not perfect, outside the lines, and has smudges, but it was fun to make.
And enjoyed by the family.
(or in our situation, a beach bucket). To keep things simple, I cut up a billion paper squares to use as markers...plus we can reuse the boards. ![]() Here are a few photos from our Bingo session...It was easy to learn with the pictures and small numbers for the young'ins. And all won prizes..."Play til You Win" was the motto
BINGO!!
Head over to RubberMoon and snatch up some FABULOUS stamps and make your own family fun!! |
