WHAT A DAY: Pittsburgh, PA - Day 2

SEPTEMBER 13, 2014
Day 2 started off with a rainy morning, but the sun began to shine and I got ready for a day of adventure in a new city.

My main goal was to go to the Andy Warhol Museum...and luckily it was right near one of the bridges (Andy Warhol Bridge) to which you could see the gorgeous scenery and architecture.  I did get a little lost downtown, but it was worth it to see all the different art displayed on the buildings.

After watching a bunch of kayakers....I so wanted to join in the fun, but didn't.

Pirates Stadium and Steeler Stadium have such great views of the city as well.  The Pirates were playing the Cubs this weekend, but I opted not to get tickets. It's not the Yankees :)

And then it was into the Warhol Museum.....such fun wallpaper greeted you in the entrance hall plus an awesome collage. You could not take any photos past the first floor...understandably so. However, I would like you to know he was a fan of taxidermy and had his Great Dane Cecil stuffed.

They also had a fun photo booth that I couldn't resist.  $5 for 3 sets of prints.  Good deal and a souvenir to boot.

And once exiting the museum, I had to take a few pictures of the awesome building Frick & Lindsay the museum was housed in.  Plus the fun changing screens in the window display.

The Warhol Museum has a set lot for it's parking....can you tell.
(the Brillo box is one of the items in many of his art prints)

After the museum, I headed to the Ross Park Mall...mainly to see what H&M had to offer.  But stopped in the Free People store.  I love their clothes, but only get a few pieces when on sale due to price, but love their displays.  They ironically are a sister store to Anthropologie.

And then it was Date Night....

We opted to go to the Waterfront Movie Theater (it has a restaurant inside)

I had a Liver Transplant & margherita pizza.  Both were delicious.

Company and conversation were also good.
We saw "No Good Deed" which was much to be desired, then ended with a tour of the city which was interesting.
Here's to my next adventure wherever it may land me.  But sure did have a fun quick weekend in Pittsburgh, PA.

WHAT A DAY: Pittsburgh, PA - Day 1

September 12, 2014
Over the river and through the woods...and some tunnels, and mountains and bridges...
I ventured to Pittsburgh for the weekend to get away and see something new.

The route took me through NC, VA, WV, PA.

On the way there, I stopped at the New Gorge River Overlook; however I didn't venture down the stairs until the return trip.  Still a beautiful view, but was getting a little chilly.

The route also had some overlook stops which were a nice break.

Had to have a Starbucks for the trip plus all the other gadgets to survive the 7.5 hour trip.

Then finally after slow traffic for an hour...I arrived to the Tunnel...

and there was Pittsburgh.
The roads were a bit ridiculous in design, but the views and bridges were amazing.
And Comfort Suites did not disappoint in a nice hotel with some comfy beds.
