LETTING OUR INNER GARDENS GROW: Day 2

HELLO DAY 2 & HELLO DONUT KING!

I couldn't sleep the night before, so was up bright and early (for me).
Since class didn't start until 10 (I was there at 9), I began working on some sketches and my journal cover.
I wanted it to be from the class, so I grabbed my art from Day 1 and gessoed it on my cover.

The put some grab bag ribbon around the edges.  I was pretty content with it at this moment,
yet not finished.

This was the cover of my sketch journal.  Just basically leftover watercolor from brushes and gesso I swiped across the cover.  I hate a blank cover.

And then it was 10.  TIME TO START :)

The morning was open to finish watercoloring and any unfinished projects.

And then Grandma Cookie showed up with some yummy homemade subs :)
The afternoon was all about BLOCKS!!!!
sand, gesso, paint, doodle, ANYTHING you want
While we were prepping and brainstorming ideas, Ellie got her bracelet charm caught on her sketch book, "Stating my seahorse is stuck." Which led to this:

(love Junelle's favorite Dick Blick blue)
Using a liner bottle....so easy and doesn't clog.

The white coral is Extra Coarse Pumice medium (it is still wet at this stage).
Made the fin out of crumpled book text.

A future baby chic with Heavy Gesso.
And then Junelle did a demo on a 3D flower.
These were probably my favorite item this weekend!
and the idea led to "babies" on Day 3.

The purple one was for Melissa and the orange/magenta one was MINE!!
Love the concept, hate the sticky Collage Pauge hands but it was worth it.

And then the day was over.  Time flies when you are doing art and chatting with friends.
I wouldn't trade it for anything.
Here are a few photos from friends on Facebook:

So much laughter.  So much fun.  So many memories to hold dear to my heart.
Thanks for another great day Junelle & Donna!
