LETTING OUR INNER GARDENS GROW: Day 1

IT'S STARTING!!!
So HAPPY & EXCITED!!
Junelle Jacobsen is HERE!!!

Can you tell I'm excited :)

After meeting my table group (LOVE THOSE LADIES: Ellie, Mac, Michelle) and chit chatting, it STARTED!
A fabulous welcome from Donna Downey...and Junelle herself (after the "stalkers" took an array of camera pics) telling us her life's path, both the ups and downs.  She is so humble, and down-to-earth.  Good People! and such a comforting and encouraging person with a sense of humor.

Inspiration was posted all around encouraging us to find our voice and explore Spring sketches. (so then our sketches could have "babies")

Junelle led us through sketching techniques, uses of watercolors, types of brushes, methods to apply color, and we were off.  (of course, while lunching on Grandma Cookie's yummy chicken wraps & pasta salad & lemon cupcakes)
Amazing what a few circles can turn into!

Love the idea of layering watercolors and framing work with white.
Junelle's sketch was so simple, and GORGEOUS! at the same time.

I chose to do a beaded necklace to show off my favorite colors.  Yet, I wasn't quite finished with this piece...seek the next couple of days for it's progress.

And yes the sheep were present during the workshop as well.

After the initial sketching and tutorial, we dove into our books preparing them with lots of gesso.

Gotta love messy hands....and happy hearts :)

Melissa was there the first day and did a fabulous job setting up the studio space!!

(yeah, I'd say Junelle's necklace of flowers trumps mine tenfold)
So pretty!

The day ended at 5ish.  So Melissa & I decided to go grab some grub from EEZ Sushi.
Since the wait was about an hour, we ventured out and shopped at a few places. I grabbed some cute stackable initial rings and a gold mint colored heart ring from The Jewel Box.
Cheap and I LOVE THEM!
Then it was time to get our grub on!!

nom! NOM! NOM!
Bento Box w/ Mark's Sushi, Mega Tuna Taco, Cucumber salad, Edamame, & Jasmine Rice
And then DESSERT SUSHI!

Below are a few photos from co-Workshoppers from the day:
Gotta love Facebook for sharing =}
