After waking up with sugar and carbs, we started the morning with a simple prompt,
"My Light Is..."
And WOW!! did these 3 little words create an enormous outpouring of feelings by many (and beautifully written). I reached my "deep thought" towards the end of my writing as the beginning was a lot of rambling about my dog. (He was hurt this week with a bruise all over his chest...plus he is a Hemophiliac....so I was a worried mess at time; yet able to escape during this retreat.)
PROMPT!!

Time to use prompts for our backgrounds using various mixed media and materials from Day 1.
I truly love the beginning palette I chose.
Neon Red is my favorite color!!!
And from the prompts, these backgrounds were created.
Like I said, no thought, just pure doing and enjoyment.
Don't you remember those tulips from childhood art. Love embracing my youth.
The day of learning continued with more uses for sprays and bleeding tissue paper.
THAT SHIMMER....CAN'T GET ENOUGH..

LUNCH: Grandma Cookie's infamous NJ Subs.
Delish!!
(and can't forget the Creme Soda...Thanks Bill/Donna)

And apparently at some point, I wiped my painted hand on my nose. So was then termed the "Warrior" by Ellie. But I"ll take it. Love me some Tribal Girls, so why not join them!
Ellie and I had a table together. So enjoyed her company and watching her create.
Even our table paper turned into works of art.

But add Mindy's twist to it...AND...
Uh, HELLO GELLI PLATE PAINTING!!
I totally fell in love with this technique. Definitely will be incorporating this into my art in the future.
I love the transparency of the prints on deli paper, but also on vintage paper.

Then I just played around with the different paper creating background and clothing bits and pieces.
I ended up using this page for my "winter girl" cat hat.
And then the animals showed up.
Everyone took Mindy's lesson and created all sorts of animals and creations.
(Even a Beaver Squirrel with a goatee made and appearance.)
Pure laughter and joy seeing everyone create and socialize.
Loved every minute of Day 2 (including the dinner of chicken parmesan & chocolate cake).
