Flame Run HotShop

The process of creating an ornament is definitely a talent.  At 2100 degrees of heat, I am not sure I would want to even dabble in the process other than the extent I did....picking the colors and blowing the glass bulb.
The colors selected were: pink, orange, and white.

(notice the Louisville Slugger bat)
I loved the end result.  It looked like flowers patterned all around.
There was a museum of glass leading up to the shop.  These pieces were truly amazing.

The afternoon led to a fun date and a tour of the Louisville Slugger museum.

(yes I got that shirt :)

It was so neat to see how the bats were made and see how such a difference in technology, design, and process from days past and days present.
The real challenge occurred when we headed to the batting cages.
Cecil did baseball.  I did fast pitch softball.
(And boy do I miss those softball playing days.)
If it was Cecil's decision, he won the challenge of most balls hit.  However, he did miss a few and fouled off a few.  So out of 10, I gave him about 6.  I, on the other hand, hit every single ball, but he said I only hit one and was playing "basketball" with the rest.
(Yes, many bounced straight down and forward, but the point was I hit them.)
Such a fun day, and learned so much!
Can't wait to see what the next adventure holds.
