WHAT A DAY: January 25-26, 2015

One a last minute decision, I decided to road trip to LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY.
& boy was I glad I did!!

The trip up was calm until the last hour of hard rain,
but the scenery was beautiful as the sun was setting.

Good Morning Louisville!
The hotel was right downtown, so it was a great location to walk to museums and restaurants.
The first day was a bit gloomy and cool, but with my Nebraskan skin, it was just warm enough to venture out to the area museums.

The furthest museum was a 20 minute walk, so it was great to see all the historical buildings, markers, arenas, and art along the way.

This artwork was on a construction area wall. HOW AWESOME!

Aside from the obvious...notice the red penguins.  So cute.
Main Street hosted all the downtown museums. Hence the name "Museum Row on Main."
This circular mirrored piece was a favorite of mine each day I walked by Science Museum.  Who could resist a great selfie :)

...and then the mirrored selfie continued near a bus drop-off.

One of my To-Do's was to blow glass at a local shop.  It was a great experience which I detail in another blog post.  The guys at Flame Run were so fun.
The afternoon was spent at the Louisville Slugger Museum with a tour and batting cage challenge...see next blog post as well.

The streets were just lined with art and historical value...there was something new on every corner.
The day ended back at the hotel, catching up on the news, weather, and indulging in some yummy Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with salad and a brownie from Sicilian's Pizza & Pasta. (highly recommended and they deliver.)
